Saying Goodbye to Acadia

Saying farewell to a great summer at Acadia National Park.

It’s been a great summer at Acadia National Park, but all good things must come to an end. I loved living across the road from the ocean, and I saw mountains every day (coming from flat Michigan, this was awesome). My neighbors were a herd of deer, and somehow, I conquered a few mountains.

It’s hard to summarize a summer in such a beautiful place. However, I have narrowed down some of my favorite things about Acadia National Park.

My favorite beach was Little Hunters Beach along the park loop road. Listening to the ocean rolling over cobblestones was fantastic.

Walking along the Ocean Path on a foggy afternoon.

The ever-gorgeous Jordan Pond.

The first mountain I climbed, Gorham Mountain. I climbed it again in Fall and it was spectacular.

The Carriage Road bridges are all unique. My favorite is Hemlock Bridge.

Watching these little guys growing up right from my bedroom window.

Climbing the South Ridge Trail up Cadillac Mountain, the tallest point in the park.

Making it all the way to the top of Cadillac Mountain without driving up. There was no sign (it got stolen) so I took a picture of my feet next to the summit marker.

And of course, the Fall colors. Taken from above the Amphitheater on my last hike in Acadia.

Here’s some more fall colors from Great Head, looking over Sand Beach and the Beehive, Gorham Mountain is to the left.

Check out my next update where I wander around Quebec City, Canada!
